Show of nature at Niagara Falls

Thundering water, swirling fog and countless colourful rainbows: Niagara Falls, on the border between the US and Canada, is a breathtaking show of nature. This amazing natural wonder is easily accessible from Toronto, just 1.5 hours by car.

Nature

The Maid of the Mist

One of the most beloved attractions for young and old is the Maid of the Mist. Since 1846, this exciting boat ride has been bringing visitors face to face with the force of falling water. The mist of the water creates beautiful images, especially on sunny days when you can see impressive rainbows from the deck. Regardless of the weather, it’s a good idea to wear a poncho: it always ‘rains’ around the falls, except in winter when the water freezes temporarily and boat tours are suspended.

The Skylon Tower

An alternative attraction to the Maid of the Mist is the view from the Skylon Tower in the city of Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. The observation deck is the perfect location from which you can view the impressive scale of this force of nature: enjoy the sweeping views 236 metres above the churning water. At the foot of the tower you will find the Skylon Fun Center, which includes a 4D cinema, shops and restaurants.
